Galder Zamarreño is currently based in the Neuchatel, a city in the French region of Switzerland but was born in Bilbao, a northern Spanish city, where he attended the ESIDE faculty at University of Deusto to study Computer Science. After spending the last 6 months of his degree in Bath University, he joined a UK retail banking software solutions company as a graduate software developer where he developed J2SE and J2EE applications running on JBoss Application Server. In February 2006, Galder joined JBoss as a 3rd level support engineer and for 3 years, he contributed features, fixes to JGroups, JBoss Cache and JBoss Application Server projects, provided support to JBoss middleware customers and delivered public JBoss Administration and JBoss Clustering trainings. On 1st June 2009, his contributions to open source projects lead to Galder becoming a JBoss core developer and currently he’s working on the Infinispan and JBoss Cache open source projects. Outside of work, Galder loves snowboarding and mixing up electronic music.

Infinispan is JBoss's next generation data grid plattform. The aim of this is to introduce the audience to Infinispan, starting with a comparison with JBoss Cache and explaining the motivation that lead to its development. Infinispan's new features, such as consistent hash distribution and asynchronous API, will also be explained. Finally, the session will finish with a short demo of Infinispan's distribution capabilities and connectivity with an Amazon S3 cache store via JClouds.
