In cooperation with the Java User Group Switzerland, a very special event will take place on November 22rd: We invite developers and all interested people to spend a whole day together contributing to free and open source projects.
You don't need any previous knowledge! We will work in groups and support everyone who has never contributed to an open source project before. Design, documentation, code: No matter what kind of contribution it is, everything and everyone is welcome!

There will be many maintainers of open source projects on site to present their projects and provide active support at any time:

  • Apache Maven
Maven is a build automation tool used primarily for Java projects. Maven manages a project's compilation, testing, and documentation..
  • JReleaser
JReleaser is a release automation tool. Its goal is to simplify creating releases and publishing artifacts to multiple package managers while providing customizable options.
  • Komunumo
Komunumo is a platform for organizing events and communities - similar to Meetup or Mobilizon, but fully open source, self-hostable, and designed with a strong focus on privacy and federation. The application is built with Java using Vaadin Flow, Spring Boot, and jOOQ, and supports the ActivityPub protocol to enable communication between instances. The Java User Group Switzerland plans to migrate its website and event organization to Komunumo. Help in perfecting the project is welcome.
  • OpenJDK Mission Control
The Java (OpenJDK) tools suite for profiling and diagnostics.
