SPEAKER: Sven Efftinge   COMPANY: itemis Schweiz GmbH

Xtext is a complete solution for developing programming languages and domain-specific languages.
It covers all aspects from parsers and linkers to compilers and interpreters. Even development tools, such as IDE plugins, can easily be developed.

Being an Eclipse.org project, Xtext has so far focussed on tool support for the Eclipse IDE, only. With 2.9 we add support for web editors and IntelliJ IDEA support to the framework.
Additionally many tool services have been made platform-independent and can be now used from arbitrary platforms, through simple Java calls or micro services.

In this session I want to give a brief overview of Xtext in general, before I highlight and demo the new features in Version 2.9.
