Hedley Apperly, Senior Vice President and General Manager, is responsible for the Application Development Solutions worldwide business unit within Select Business Solutions. Hedley also defines the ADS product and marketing strategies based upon customer feedback and the software market directions, as well as managing the strategic and technology partnerships. Hedley originally joined Select in January 1996, focusing on product marketing and pre-sales consultancy.
Hedley has graduate and post-graduate qualifications in production engineering, business computing and strategic marketing. His 20 years experience in IT, have focused on the design and development of relational, object-oriented and component-based systems. He is a member of the BCS, Object-Oriented Programming and Systems (OOPS) specialist group, as well as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He was involved in the Component Based Development for Enterprise Systems book (1998 Cambridge University Press). Hedley also co-authored Component Based Software Engineering; Putting the Pieces Together (1999, Addison-Wesley) and Service- and Component-based Development; Using the Select Perspective and UML (2002, Addison Wesley).
